Wang Fu is a famous ideologist and political critics in the mid-or-later East-Han Dynasty, the most important representative of social critical thoughts. Recently, More and more studies on Wang Fu and his writing "A Treatise on the Latent Man" were taken, which focused on Wang Fu's biography and ideology. Therefore, this article attempts to reveal the deep cultural values of studying Wang Fu from a novel angle—moral spirit. As an important level of traditional culture, moral spirit has been a hot spot of scholars since the rising of culture-researching, but these studies are mostly started from philosophy, with history little concerned. Therefore, this article attempt to study the moral spirit of Wang Fu from the view of history and give a more systematic and comprehensive understanding.Wang Fu's moral spirit lies intensive in four aspects: devoting to the nation, concerning people's livelihood, criticizing inequity fearlessly, and pursuing justice bravely.Firstly, Wang Fu devoting himself for the unifying, governing, and developing of his nation. This Holy spirits of regarding the interests of nation at the first place is the expression of Wang Fu's moral spirit.Secondly, The moral spirit of paying attention to people and their livelihood. Wang Fu stressed the interests of people, warned the governors to administrate the country of the people, and for the people. Such people-oriented standing point is another manifestation of Wan Fu's moral spirits.Again, Wang Fu lived in the mid-or-late East-Han Dynasty where there was a total dark political environment. He criticized radically the corruption, extravagance and hypocrisy of cultural environment and social reality regardless of self security. What hiding behind the bravely exposing and criticizing social darkness is a strong sense of social responsibility.Finally, Wang Fu advocated morality and honor through criticizing the common customs of righteousness vs. profits, honor vs. disgrace, called for a fair and impartial attitude towards the problems, so as to promote national development and social stability. This is the personality spirit of Wang Fu, but also his brilliant portrayal of his moral spirit.Limited by the times and social reality, Wang Fu's moral spirit inevitably had its historical deficiency, yet this is understandable. We should dialectically treat with it.
