Festivals and holidays have been widely concerned home and abroad in recent years. Although we still celebrate various festivals with long history dating back to the ancient times, the cultural connotations embodied in those festivals seem to be ignored by the modern society. Grown up in this modern society, the young generations prefer celebration of some foreign holidays rather than Chinese traditional ones. However when some people sigh with emotion that the Spring Festival gets more boring and tedious, they don't really understand that the special spirit of traditional festivals is farther and farther away from us.As a cultural phenomenon, festivals carry our human civilization. Therefore it's practically significant to combine these three issues of traditional festivals, traditional culture and juvenile moral education because moral education is closely related with inheritance of traditional culture. Presently people have done a lot of research about the issues of traditional festivals and juvenile moral education home and abroad, but they seldom combine the two issues. What's more, personal research is often limited to the superficial level rather than probed with a theoretical perspective. The outcome clearly reflects the tendency of descent of traditional festivals, based upon questionnaires of the attitude towards traditional festivals about 800 students from 8 middle schoolsin Chongqing. They are less interested in Chinese traditional festivals because the forms and contents of those festivals are not appealing to them.4. Under the circumstances of modern society, people change their understanding of Chinese traditional festivals. This article is designed to analyze descent of Chinese traditional festivals among middle school students in Chongqing from three perspectives:...
