Research On The Identification With Chinese Folk Belief In The Technology Age

In the science and technology age, people uphold science because science can solve many problems and tell the truth of the world. But at the same time, people should face the fact that science can not explain some strange phenomenon temporarily, they feel so helpless that have to believe that deity can solve the problems. Folk belief becomes a part of people's life gradually. They pray that the family members have good health, pass the exam, become very rich, find a good job and so on.This thesis is based on the investigation to 778 people that come from 8 provinces in China. This thesis research into the relationship between folk belief and demographic characteristics, the folk belief and religious backgrounds, the folk belief and subjective projection, the folk belief and world view and so on in four aspects: the search for ethical support and destination, the need of realization of self-value, emotion compensation and moral aspiration, and the needs of social contacts. According to this article, the folk belief has a certain impact to people's life. It does't vanish until science can control people's life completely.
