The studies on Lu ji, a man who lived from the late term of the Three Kingdoms to the middle term of the Western Jin Dynasty, have been extensively conducted by many researchers and scholars. Most of the remarks on his rough life as well as his literary works are full of the ambivalence and the dispute. His personality is remarked as utilitarian while his literary works are considered to be gorgeous and vacuous. Even he is considered as the first man who leads to the corruptness on the style of writing of the Six Dynasties. However, as the coin has two sides, so did Lu ji. In this thesis, the author puts the emphases on the positive aspects of this man. For the personality, although he lived in the troubled times, he was not depraved. From his active attitude to be an official in Luoyang, it was indicted that his action accorded with the requirement of the Confucian which was described in "Li Ji-Ru Xing". He was a chivalrous person in the imperial court, with the uprightness, the justice, and the virtue. From his belonging, it may be noted that Lu ji's political ambition did not result from the pursuit of the fame and the wealth but from his matureness in politics. For the literariness, his works is affectionate in the sentiment and profound in the meanings. His poetry was also not only gorgeous. Actually, the gorgeousness (Qi Mi) may mean the rhythm of the poems.
