The "Hero Consciousness" In WeiJin Poems

By analyzing the different concept of "hero" in Chinese and Western culture, this article reveals the particular character of "hero consciousness", which origins from the human civilization, appearing by the development of Chinese society and politics. Meanwhile, based on researching poems in WeiJin period, "hero consciousness" in these poems was embodied in four aspects according to its concept and the deep reasons of the four aspects are exposed. The purpose of this article is to reveal the great power of traditional Chinese values and the national spirits persisted by the poets who were influenced by these values. Through revealing the "hero consciousness", the merit of these superior thoughts from ancient China would be rediscovered and the harmful influence generated from the trend of post-modern thoughts would be resisted.This article is divided into three chapters.In the introduction, the present research situation of this subject is summarized and the value of researching "hero consciousness" in WeiJin poems was particularly illustrated.Chapter one analyses the different concepts of "hero" in Chinese and Western culture and further interprets the variation of "hero spirit" in Chinese intellectuals'psychology by the development of Chinese society at the same time compares "hero adoration" in two different culture types, which could better reveal the peculiarity of Chinese"hero consciousness".According to the concept of "hero consciousness", chapter two classifies the content of WeiJin poems into four parts, each part is in one section. These four sections are:the complex of sages and the virtuous, individual feeling of life achievement, chivalrous spirit, and the adoration of myth heroes. In this chapter, section one researches the influence of sages, which are instead of "hero adoration", in intellectuals' mind; section two resolve the different aspects of "hero consciousness" in individuals'life achievement; section three illustrates the exemplification of another form of "hero consciousness", which could be called "chivalrous spirit"; section four resolves the problems of the myth heroes adoration in WeiJin poems.Chapter three discusses the positive meanings brought by WeiJin "hero consciousness" in rectifying the corrupt practices brought by the post-modern thoughts.
