Objective: 1. To develop the Childhood Trauma Experience Rating Scale which was based on the situation of China. 2. To analyze the psychometric properties of this scale. Methods: We developed the initial scale according to the definition of childhood trauma of Jongsma. The samples were consisted of two groups: the patient group from Shandong Mental Health Center and the student group from Shandong Modern Vocational College and Shandong Liming Science and Technology Vocational College. Then we formed the formal scale by item analysis and exploratory factor analysis. The reliability analysis included the mean inter-item correlation, Cronbach's a coefficient, split-half reliability, test-retest reliability and the generalizability analysis. The validity analysis included content validity, construct validity and criterion-related validity. Results: 1.Childhood trauma rating scale was consisted of 36 items, included 6 factors: physical abuse, physical neglect, emotional abuse, emotional neglect, sexual abuse and negative home atmosphere. 2. Item analysis: the Critical Ratio of the total scale and all factors reached statistical significance (P<0.01). 3.Reliability: (1)Cronbach's a coefficient of the total scale was 0.8756, and Cronbach's a coefficients of the factors ranged from 0.6760 to 0.7789. (2)The range of split-half reliability coefficients of factors were from 0.6736 to 0.7304, the split-half reliability coefficient of the total scale was 0.8374. (3)The range of test-retest reliability of factors were 0.508 to 0.934, the test-retest reliability of the total scale was 0.933. (4)The generalizability coefficient of the total scale was 0.8755. 4.Validity: The...
