A Study Of Words Description On Personality Characteristics Of Occupational Adaptation And Preparation For Adjective Rating Scale

Objective:This study tried to study vocational adaptive personality of Chinese, investigate target crowd for analysing their personality traits of vocational adaptability,gain vocational adaptive personality vocabulary, build Chinese vocational adaptability dimensions of the basic structure of personality based on the theory and establish the adjective rating scale of vocational adaptive personality。Methods:First step, using open questionnaire of Personality characteristics of vocational adaptability, stratified sampling according to area and age,3000 residents in china were surveied, asked the residents to discrib the personality characteristic of scientists, artists and writers, politicians, entrepreneurs, engineers, (engineering and technical personnel), religious gurus, mediocrities and failures by lexis; deleted and selected these lexis based on the principles of vocabulary selection. Drawed up the questionnaire of clarity, degree and Evaluation Judgments,110 undergraduate students were assessed in Zhengzhou University;Secend step, prepared on the basis of this preliminary assessment of personality into a career adaptability scale,3345 subjects in china were evaluated, statistical analysis was used by SPSS15.0, factor analysis was used to gain structure of the scale, and a norm was established and the reliability and validity analysied to form the standard scale. Using independent samples t test, one-way ANOVA test to analysis the occupational adaptive personality for different groups.Results:"Chinese vocational adaptive personality vocabulary" was gained by open investigation of 158 describing words; Adjective Rating Scale of occupational adaptation Personality consists of 8 facters with 54 items; The test-retest reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.624 (p<0.001),and the internal consistency coefficient was 0.805(p<0.001);more coefficients between the scale and vocational ability and related ability to self-rating of the revision of SDS show significant correlation (p><0.001).different occupational groups in the comparison for adaptive personality characteristics showed:male and female occupational adaptation personality in social maturity, inquiry, irrational, prudence and adherence were different (p<0.05);there was significant difference in social maturity, irrational and conservative for groups who are in different age (p<0.05);there was significant differences in social maturity, inquiry, extraversion for proups who who have different living conditions (p<0.001);there was significant difference in inquiry,prudence and extraversion for groups who are in different occupations (p<0.05);there are significant differences in eight dimensions who are in different levels of achievement (p<0.01);there was significant difference in inquiry,prudenceand and extraversion who are in different levels of income (p<0.05);there are significant differences in eight dimensions who are in different levels of mental health (p<0.01)Conclusion:1."Chinese vocational adaptive personality vocabulary"is consisting of 158 words(please consult appendix C).2.Chinese vocational adaptability personality was divided into eight dimensions with 54 items,there are social maturity, inquiry, irrational, prudence, extraversion, integrity, adherence and conservative.3.Adjective rating scale of personality of occupational adaptation has high reliability and validity, which can assess the occupational adaptation personality for Chinese.4.There are difference structures in personality of occupational adaptation who are in different groups.
