According to the aim and the target of research, literary stylistics refers specially to stylistic study, whose purpose is to interpret linguistically the literary meaning and aesthetic effect of literature texts. As a branch of stylistics, literary stylistics combines linguistics and literary criticism together, making up the blank of deficient study on literary language nowadays, which cannot be overcome by merely linguistics or literature.Jane Austen is one of the greatest writers not only in 19th century but also in the whole English literature. Though her theme is mostly about love and marriage, her stories always happen in "two or three families", and her ability is not realized and accepted by the readers and critics in her lifetime, from 20th century, people have been digging out her value, the delicacy of her works, and her writing techniques of investigating the important and serous matter through trivial things. She is finally rewarded her proper position in literature history. Pride and Prejudice is her masterpiece with the widest and deepest fondness. The studies of Austen have a very long history, but compared with others the research on her style is far from being satisfied.
