Research On Fujian Maxian Belief And The Local Culture

The dissertation revolves around study of Fujian local religion, Ma Deity, and incorporates anthropologic methodology. The whole article not only investigates the process of origin, development and promulgation of the religion, but also reviews the history of the religion from the perspective of ZheRong in the East of Fujian Province. The author strives to reveal the function of local community and local influence by outlining ritualistic process, organizing form and organization and further seeks the connection between Ma deity religion and universe view of the local people. To unscramble the local culture is the end-result of the dissertation.The dissertation is mainly composed of shape of the deity, ritualistic exhibition and Jing organization. The shape of the Deity discusses the origin, development and promulgation of Ma deity. The ritualistic exhibition introduces the ritual of Ma deity temple in Zherong, Fujian Province to express cultural meaning of Ma deity .The Jing organization discuss influence of Ma Deity on local society and the relationship between Ma Deity religion and local clan.Finally the dissertation sums up the unscrambling of Ma Deity ritual and supposes that local religion and ritual is a means of the local people to express their universe view, description of living concept. The historical description is indeed formation of local culture.
