Self-regard And Altruism In The Market-economy

Sociality determines that self-regard and altruism exist simultaneously in human being. Pure self-regard or pure altruism can't be human being's realistic choice. Therefore, the problem how to find the unification of the contradiction between self-regard and altruism becomes one of the most important problems that are faced to the human being and society.In the base of absorbing the thoughts of antecedent, on the axiology, I use the basic principles of Marxism theory of human being and dialectic method to completely analyze the rationality and limitation between self-regard and altruism, put forward that the mutual benefit is the unification, analyze the way that how to accomplish the mutual benefit in the condition and background of market-economy.In the market-economy, benefit is the first principle of economical doer. Self-regard is the need of human being's existence, at the some time, is the internal force of development of society. Only from benefit, we can exploit people's initiative, and accelerate the development of society. Self-regard has existence's rationality, but it has existence's limitation. If self-regard goes beyond the limit, it must be to engender human being. Therefore, pure self-regard has no benefit to the development of society and human being. Self-regard and altruism is simultaneous. Human beings are social animals. Altruism is the need of existence and development of human being and society. Economic doers are attentive to not only their benefit, but also their moral need. Altruism is not only the method of self-regard, but also the arm of the society's development, and value chase of life. Self-regard and altruism are conflictive relation: contradiction in the unification and unification in the contraction. In the condition and background of existence jointly and development jointly, the thought of win-win and joint enjoyment have dept in the society, and have put up great benefit. Mutual benefit and win-win becomes the best method that solves the contradiction between self-regard and altruism. During the conflict of market-economy, realizationof mutual benefit and win-win depends on "the hand that can't be seen" and "the hand that can be seen", depends on self-conscious and law.The key to the unification of the contradiction between self-regard and altruism in the condition of market-condition lies in the realizing the truth that self-regard can only be realized in the prerequisite of altruism. Meanwhile, the realization of altruism must be in the base of self-regard, and society must build up the valid stimulating mechanism for man's altruism behavior. To pursue the unification of the contradiction between self-regard and altruism is the objective requisite to ultimately transcend the contradiction between self-regard and altruism, and realize the complete and free development of human being.
