| In modern history of Chinese literature, Zhang Tianyi appears as a satirist. Many immortal artistic images are born under his pen, for example, the image of the rural gentry landlord and the"upwardly crawl"have already become the two series of characters which are the most vivid among all characters in his works. However, since the beginning of the study on Zhang Tianyi, the scholars have lacked enough understanding in the female image under Zhang's pen, which is a disadvantage to the study of Zhang Tianyi as a whole. This paper is intended to analyze the female images in Zhang's works from the four perspectives as follows: the creation, the classification, the artistic feature and the narrative strategy, so as to peep at Zhang's opinions on women, sexual love, and marriage, and explore the unique artistic charm of the female images under Zhang's pen. Followings are the brief introduction to the content of the paper.Preface: the literature review on the female images in Zhang's works. This part starts from the literature review, pointing out that the scholars have made good interpretation on many kinds of characters in Zhang's works, but they have not paid enough attention to the female images. Moreover, the author puts forward the significance and value of the study on the female images.Chapter One: The Creation and Classification of the Female Image in Zhang's works. This is the main part of the paper, which starts from a brief introduction to the existential condition of the female at the beginning of the 20th century and to the creation thoughts of the left-wing writers—"the aim of the creation is to teach the reader something". And the author points out that the female images in Zhang's works are created under the special existential condition in special historical period, which is the literary reflection of the left-wing group's political opinions.
