Under the guidance of the new College English Curriculum Requirements (for trial implementation), the thesis mainly attempts to present a language teaching mode that applies computer-assisted language learning (CALL) activities into the language classroom to enhance English teaching, i.e. how to effectively enhance language input and output of English teaching by the use of computer technologies. Previous researches have found that, most of the college students in China tend to be passive recipients of language knowledge, and both language input and output activities can not be efficiently organized in class to better assist language acquisition, which gradually leads to the decrease of interest and learning efficiency. Therefore, the teaching mode of"input-output"CALL activities is put forward in this thesis to enhance both English teaching and acquisition.Based on the language acquisition theories, mainly on Input Hypothesis and Output Hypothesis, the mode emphasizes the importance and balance of language input and output in teaching. Theories and concepts related to CALL and designing principles of CALL activities are widely applied in the whole research. Since there have been few researches, to the author's knowledge, on systematic instruction of English teaching methodology under CALL environment, the design and implementation are just at the initial stage. The surveys by way of two questionnaires were conducted respectively to students and teachers before the experimental semester in order to find their needs. Another questionnaire was delivered to students of experimental class at the end of the semester as the post-survey. Through comparing results of the two surveys, it reveals that the"input-output"CALL activities can better arouse and cater for students'motivation. Furthermore, the author makes quantitative analyses on students'learning achievements in order to further illustrate the effects of"input-output"CALL activities on English teaching. Through questionnaire design, experimental teaching and data analysis, the results are as follows. In students'achievement aspect, the experimental class did much better than the control class after comparing their final exam scores by independent...
