Zhang Ailing, as a rather legendary and unique novelist in the history of Modern Chinese Literature, roused great attention and criticism as soon as she became a women of letters. Most critics comment generally or specifically on her fiction to examine the artistic characteristics and literary value, from perspectives of sex culture, metropolitan consumptive culture, formal fiction techniques and comparative study. On the basis of known fruits on Zhang Ailing study, the following paper, by taking the perspectives of Zhang Ailing's traumatic memory and anxiety in her life experience, the collapse of the 'Maternal Myth' and its poetic reconstruction and inward aesthetic pursuit, and by reading Zhang's novels intensively, attempts to analyze the links between Zhang Ailing's life experience and character modeling in her fiction, and to show her unique humanistic care and inward aesthetic characteristic.The paper consists of the Introduction, the Body and the Conclusion.The Introduction brings in the perspectives of the paper.The Body includes three parts, go as follows:Part I, Traumatic Memory and Living Anxiety. Zhang Ailing, in her fiction, tried to discover the truth of human existence and to show her concern with human fate, whether in dealing with the predicament of "The others are the hell', or with the dilemma between culture and individual or man's fear of time. Her aim was to make known the existing status to the readers and call on them to self-design and self-saving. Focusing her traumatic memory on this, Zhang Ailing displayed her unique humanistic care, To know, to care.'Part II, The Collapse of 'Maternal Myth' and Poetic Reconstruction. Contrary to the others, Zhang Ailing put 'Mother' to a worldly reality. On the one hand, she destructed the 'Mother' image in the traditional culture, tore her tender, sexless veil, created a series of real, worldly 'Mother' images, restored to her female qualities, thus overturning the traditional maternal culture. On the other hand, she made efforts to seek for traditional 'Maternity' in a deeper sense, and took it as a mental Utopia and way to 'Cultural Return'.
