Current language teaching gives more and more consideration to communicative function of language, to the ultimate use of language in authentic environment. We all know that human beings come into contact with language and learn it first through listening. Further, listening is not only a skill that needs to be separately trained, but also a necessary way to learn language. The listening proficiency influences the improvement of the whole English level. So listening, as one of the most important skills, is attracting more and more attention and become an important topic in learning English. But the improvement of listening comprehension ability is a long, continuous process. For many years, the class of listening is considered as a simple job of playing the tape and checking the answers. In order to improve students' listening abilities, the teachers try their best to help the students to move away the linguistic and non-linguistic barriers in listening, and the students are also put all their hearts to do that. But there is a common phenomenon that even some listening materials are simple, less new vocabulary and without many difficult grammars, the students still cannot understand them; sometimes they just can grasp the literal meaning of them. Therefore, they often cannot get the correct answers in doing such kind of exercises. Such questions appear just because in traditional listening teaching.
