The Study Of The Rural Gentry Images In Vernacular Novels Of Ming And Qing Dynasties

This thesis mainly elaborates two major propositions related to rural gentry: one is how the vernacular novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties portray the rural gentry images; the other is the esthetics significance behind this kind of molds . It aims to summarize the characteristics of these stories and molds of rural gentry by inspecting the rural gentry images in the vernacular novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties. And the thesis tries to give a more objective appraisal to the rural gentry images portrait through the longitudinal and crosswise comparison between these novels .Thus it enables us to be better at explaining the Ming and Qing Dynasties novels' reflections to the social reality and ideological trend and the ideas of literature creation in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
