In 1950s, Zhong Lihe's extraordinary literary pursuit floated on the wave of the"anti-communist"literature in Taiwan province. His works show distinctive artistic style and aesthetic images different from the main official literature in Taiwan. They are saturated with, under the press of the"new system", the loss of social belief and the anxiety about the"failed control"of the feeling of individual bitterness. When showing individual spirit and public feelings, his works inherited the compassion peculiar to Taiwan literature. And they give prominence to the images as"folk","countryside","power"and"the bottom of society"among the rural literature, which is normally the"holding simple and unadorned style".The author of this paper mainly elaborated the ideological connotation and aesthetic value of these works, as well as revealed the relationship between the writer's spiritual experience and his works. The exposition of the ideological connotation will be from the following four aspects: 1. the ideology of grief and forbearance; 2. the ideology of justice and resistance; 3. the national critical ideology; 4. the ideology of root.
