The thesis is an attempt made to analyze and judge the cause, the feature and the academic valuation and historical status of Sushi's literature theories.This thesis consists of four parts, which are illustrated and elucidated with logical organization.The beginning is the preface, which briefly states the significance and perspective of the thesis. Sushi is behalf on the literature peak of song dynasty and his literature theories are profound and affect his contemporary and those people who were born after Sushi past away. This thesis does ones best to study Sushi's literature theories combining his works and his conception.Part one is about the prose theories of Sushi. First, an investigation is made to probe his attitude to the campaign of the Archaic Article. Sushi insists on the truth of the Archaism and protests to his error. Second, Sushi believes that thought is fundamental, that is to say that he emphasizes on the prose idea and social function. Third, Sushi believes that the article should express idea. Fourth, Sushi appreciates that the prose style is spontaneous.Part two focuses on the poetic theories. Sushi thinks that poem should serve to the reality and writing poem ought to have genuine emotion .The essence of poem and paint is the same and all demand that unwilled and unworn. Sushi establishes himself poetic theories.Part three elaborates on ci theories of Sushi. First, Sushi holds that ci and poetry are uniform. As a result, he raises the status of ci from the theory. Second, Sushi considers that ci and poetry are different, and accordingly,he points out that the art form of ci is very important. Finally, Sushi initiates unstrained style of ci.
