Wh-words have always been a heated topic ever since it caught peoples' attention. As to different behaviors of wh-words in various kinds of languages, many schools of analysis have been proposed. However, no matter it is the "Chinese in-situ wh-word LF movement proposal" by T.C. James Huang (1982), or "the Analysis of Two Types of English Wh -words Proposal" with Wh-movement for non-D-linking wh-words; Operator-variable binding for in situ D-linking wh -words by Pesesky(1987), "The Existential Quantification Over Choice Functions Proposal" by Reinhart (1994) .or the "Residual LF-movement Proposal" with sometime similar to Pesesky(1987) by Tsai (1994, 1999) etc., what the linguists interested are the wh-elements, the categorical difference between the words themselves, therefore, different binding relations are merely used for the interpretation of the wh-words. However, what calls the author's the attention is that of the "Pied-piping Analysis" for Japanese Complex NP with whi-NP embedded. The author has noticed that similar to Japanese data, our Chinese data show that it is actually also the whole complex NP together with the wh-NP that are acting in the operator-variable binding relationship, instead of merely the wh-NP.Following Huang (1982), this paper also makes a delicate categorical distinction between nominal-whs and adverbial-whs. What is closely analyzed here is nominal-whs (thereafter briefly called wh -words for short). In this article, different levels of operator-variable binding relations have been tentatively put forward in analyzing the complex NPs with wh-NP attributes in Chinese. That is, with the wh-word being bound by an embedded (covert or overtly realized) operator, the wh-NP, which has inherited the indefinite feature through a percolation mechanism therefore obtains its variable status, is bounded by a...
