This paper mainly focuses on the Chinese concurrent adverbs and the corresponding issues. It is composed of four parts apart from the preface and the conclusion.Part one analyses the semantic features of the concurrent adverbs and then gives thedefinition and scope of them. Through the comparison and analysis with the "dou1", we can seethat there are some common points and difference between the concurrent adverbs and thetypical range adverbs, thereby comprehending the dividing line between them.Part two discusses the syntactic and semantic features of the substantive and predicatewhich coexist with the concurrent adverbs according to the examination of the binding variablesof the concurrent adverbs. We get the conclusion that the substantive words are either markedor unmarked in syntax, and bounded in semantics. The predicate are mostly verbal phrases, andespecially have the property of dynamic. The inclusions of the concurrent adverb for thepredicate are semantic, contextual, affix, temporary, uncooperative. Moreover, we have alsodiscussed the semantic network formed by the semantic expression of the concurrent adverbsunder the influence of the various kinds of binding operators.Part three investigates the diachronic source and development of the commonly usedconcurrent adverbs, and finds that "yiqi214, yikuai(er)51"come from the quantitative phrases;"yiqi35, yitong35"come from the former term of the serial verbal phrases as predicate. Throughthe close investigation of the specific text in different periods, this paper also explores the fluxand reflux of these several concurrent adverbs in the competition.Part four analyses the inside differences and individual characteristics of the concurrentadverbs. It has made a special effort to compare the common points and differences between"yiqi214"and "yikuai(er)51"in the aspects of function and using method, and gives a hierarchysequence which presents the concurrent feature of the concurrent adverbs: "yikuai(er)51 "> "yiqi214"> "yidao51">"yitong35">"yiqi35". And they have their individuality not only inunderlying meaning, but also in style. It has also discussed the individualities of this group ofconcurrent adverbs in both underlying meaning and style.
