Research On Item Designing Of Intelligence Test Based On Pass Model And Computer Administrating

The PASS Theory Model proposes that Planning, Attention, Simultaneous, and Successive cognitive processes are the basic building blocks of intellectual activities.Guided by the PASS theory, this paper provides a thorough analysis of cognitive tasks involved in the four cognitive processes. Items are designed and compiled to measure the cognitive processes based on the cognitive analysis, test theory and measurement technology. An explanation of item response, from a view of cognitive psychology, is provided. Letters, numbers, Chinese characters and usual sketches are used to reduce the negative influence from different cultural background. All the items are programmed in VB Language to the convenience of test administrating, timing, scoring. And the test is administrated in a manner of man-computer conversation. The objects of the test are presumed as middle -school -aged youngsters. After fore-testing, analyzing and selecting, a test is named "PASS Model Based Computer Administering Test". The test is made up of 4 subtests, each of the subtests includes 2-3 measurements and each measurement composed of 3-32 items.87 students are investigated with the test. Using Iisrel8.45(the student edition), confirmary factor analysis of the data from the test is conducted to check the fitness between the data and the PASS Model. The interview of the participators after the test gives an cognitive explanation of the response of the items. The result shows that the subtests can measure the PASS construct.
