There are some reasons for the rise of female schools in the later Qing Dynasty. First, modern Church Woman's education had the strong impact to modern Chinese woman's education. Second, the active promotion of internal reform. In the promotion of these two forces, new female schools appeared in China's coastal cities. Suzhou is near shanghai city in location, so the atmosphere in Suzhou was much open and culturing. Therefore, a certain number of new female schools run by the rich people. The woman's education in Suzhou developed soon.Around the 1911 Revolution, a number of women primary schools established in Suzhou. There were Datong female school, Susu female school, Hongzhi female school, Dongjiang female school, Lanling female school, Zhenhua famale school etc. The development of modern female education in Suzhou mainly depended on the local business community and the education sector, they used their own influence and power to promote the female education. The rise of female schools of Suzhou during later Qing dynasty marked the collapse of the feudal system, and the gradual establishment of modern educational system.This article attempts to analyze modern female schools administration, schools set-up, student organizations, students movement, teaching resources, teacher. These clearly depicted the overall development of the schools for girls and the general development trend.Those female schools of Suzhou promoted the development of modern Suzhou society; also, they promoted the female liberation movement in Suzhou. However, those schools still had the shortages, they still had the limitations that given by the times.
