Accompanying with the development of feminist consciousness, gender distribution in China filmdom has been transferred from male director mainly dominating to female holding the most pivotal position. Since cinematographic works which were directed by female have special and unique perspectives and styles, thus conducting films which made by female directors has a significant research value.Nevertheless due to restrictions from era and society, cinematographic works which made by first generation of female directors follow the same pattern with movies filmed by first generation of male directors. Vacuous but also sexless, movies more concentrate on "The earth mother" and "Magnolia". Chinese female directors were influenced by Western feminist consciousness after 80’s. They were starting to integrate feminist consciousness into films, pursuing equality of men and women through filmography, and transforming singular thinking mode under patriarchal society.Post 80’s Chinese female directors are fond of choosing domestic affection, friendship, and love as their topics that illustrate humanistic concern and love for women but also include realistic criticism. Blending personal emotions and experiences, they deliberately choose female as narrator, from a female perspective, view female as an essential part of a movie. Under this think beacon, traits and characteristics of female actors are extremely disparate from actors in male directors’ film lens. From an ambiguous body to a minded and spiritual actor, female characters have gained a pivotal status from a "perfunctory place". These unique female roles bring a brighten contrast to males’ cowardice and incompetency. Moreover, female directors come up with interpretations of some taboos, not only in "sexual liberation" aspect but also turning the view to lesbian this fringe community.However since the beginning of 21 centuries, transforming the system of market economy has fortified the connection between China and worldwide industrial structure. Cultural industry gradually becomes the most significant component among economic structure. The flavor of business dissolved into the film market. All of these factors have changed the judgment criteria of a movie, which leads to money as the first priority value. At the same time of the logic of market dominating the development of culture, it also restricts the progress of female directors. On the one hand, female directors endure the impacts from western movies. On the other hand, in Chinese film innovation territory, commercial films account for a huge amount of proportion. Under this culture and circumstance, female directors are encountering a challenge that has no precedent before.In any case, female directors trying to recover the right of speak, seek equality of participation rights, which has brought an undeniable contribution to the development of human innovation. In addition, connotational, exquisite, and not to stick to one pattern creation style bring a fresh sense of aesthetic prospect.
