The author of this thesis tries to reflect the changes of China's English language education planning and policy through analyzing the changes of China's high school English textbooks in the recent 20 Years. At the macro-level, language planning is an activity undertaken by the state, mainly focusing on solving specific language problems. Language planning is composed of status planning, corpus planning and acquisition planning. A large number of scholars both at home and abroad have been studying this field. In China, there are Li Yuming, Zhou Qingsheng, Chen Zhangtai, Zhou Yuzhong, Wang Hui and the like, and in other countries, there are Bernard Spolsky,Joshua A. Fishman,Einar Haugen,Heinz Moss and so on. However, they all basically employ LP&LP theory to solve specific language problems.
