Modal Particles In The Chengdu Dialect

The modal particles are playing most important role in people's relation expression; therefore, they have much bigger research value.Chengdu, Sichuan's provincial capital, is located in the centeral plain of Chengdu in Sichuan and also is the Entire province politics, economical, cultural and transportation center. Chengdu dialect is one part of Mandarin dialect. So, they reveal the identity in the mandarin. However, most parts of Chengdu dialect represent the speciality of the local language, and is also different from the other dialect, which is worthy of investigation.This thesis gives a descriptive analysis of the twenty nine modal particles in the Chengdu dialect, and then, summarizes some characteristics of these modal particles from the phonetic, grammatical perspectives. Based on the analysis, we try to build the system of modal particles in the Chengdu dialect.This thesis is discussed in three parts.Part one reviews the research of the modal particles and dialectal modal particles.Part two discusses modal particles in Chengdu dialect grouped under three heads which are interrogative modal particles, modal particles indicating the state of affairs and speaker's mood and attitude.Part three summarizes modal particles in Chengdu dialect from phonetic and grammatical perspectives trying to build the system of modal particles in the Chengdu dialect.Part four take for example, we point out the...
