On Jiaoxun's Ci And Ci Criticism

Jiaoxun (1763— 1820)who is regarded as a versatile confucian,a noted expert on Confucian classics and learned scholar during the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Jiaqing, focuses his attention mainly on Confucian classics and sometimes also on many other disciplines such as history,astronomy ,medicine and literature.As far as literature is concerned,inheriting and incorporating his predecesors's discoveries, Jiaoxun put forward this famous thesis: "Every generation has its own merit."which tallied with the developmental fact of the Chinese literature,it was accepted by a lot of scholars .In the creation of Ci,Jiaoxun has the distinctive feature in Ci by scholars .Seeing from the angle of the combination of his classicism and his theory on Ci, this thesis bear it out that both Jiaoxun's creation and theory of literture and art are influenced by his confusion classicism.Based on a detailed description of his life story and the historical and social background,with the overall,deepgoing research of his confusian classic study as well as his ideas and Ci. In order to orient Jiaoxun's special Ci-poetic ideas and Ci-poetic styles and determine the meaning and status of his Ci-poetic ideas and Ci-poetic criticism in Ci poem filed of the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Jiaqing, while this thesis is comparison with Zhu Yizun who was the representative of West Zhejiang school and Zhang Huiyan who was the representative of Changzhou Ci school ,It will discuss the style how to form by the origin of Ci and the condition of culture.
