Wartime Propaganda developed consumedly in the two world wars. The British wartime propaganda to America was an important affair of the Anglo-American relationship in World War II. The entering of America, which was indispensable to the victory of World War II, was closely related to the British propaganda. The British wartime propaganda to America made a prompting on wining the support of American public opinion and releasing the American foreign policy from the "isolationism" and accelerating the involvement of America. Propaganda was just an outside cause, and it was one of the important causes of the involvement of America but not the crucial one. This thesis tries to review and analyze the British propaganda to America from the breakout of World War II to the involvement of America and reveal the impact of British propaganda to the involvement of America in World War II.The full text is divided into five chapters. Chapter one introduces the institution of British wartime propaganda which included British institution and media as well as British institution and parties in America. The key point is the Ministry of Information which is the official institution of Britain. Chapter two to four discuss how the British propaganda to America became mature step by step with the development of the war. Chapter two introduces the British propaganda in the "phony war". Chapter three introduces the British propaganda in the period of "the battle of Britain". Chapter four introduces the British propaganda to the "Pearl Harbor". The last chapter summarizes the characteristics of the British propaganda and its effect to America.Wartime propaganda represents the modern international relationship of modern wars. The British propaganda to America in the early days of World War II has done a lot.
