| ChaoYu ShiWu Yin, edited by Jiang Rulin, is a book about the rhythm of the sound system of Chaozhou and Shantou dialects. This dissertation is intended to discuss the nature of the sound system of ChaoYu ShiWu Yin and its coordination of the initial consonants and vowels from the perspective of historical comparison by deduction and induction. It also synchronically and diachronically compares of the sound system of ChaoYu ShiWu Yin with that of Guangyun, and compares the rhythm characteristics of the mandarin with those of modern Chaozhou and Shantou dialects from the perspectives of time and space to find out the corresponding correlation between the sound systems, their differences and the changing regularity to shed light on the changing clue and regularity of Chaozhou and Shantou dialects. |
