| New ceramics art has been widely acknowledged and applied to daily use in many developed countries. Domestically, it is still limited to practitioners and enthusiasts while the mass still understand the ceramics art as the traditional ceramics. Virtually, new ceramics art is a special science, which carries on the technique, culture and aesthetics of the traditional ceramics art. It also incorporates the concept, taste and aesthetic theory of new ceramics art. On the one hand, it reflects the social ideology and social life by shaping specific objects and images, and conveys the designers' ideals, emotions and political tendency. On the other hand, it is a process of activity which expresses the designers' ideas and solutions to problems in a visual way.The paper studies the origin, trend and essence of new ceramic art from the perspectives of art sociology and historical study, and summarizes characteristics of new ceramic art in terms of art and design. The author discusses the artistic essence expressed in designs concerning human nature and design and the impact of new techniques on the development and designs of new ceramic art.Based on the essence of new ceramic art, the paper analyzes artistic features and trends of development of industrial design, and seek ways of making new ceramic art and industrial design emotionally compatible. The author tries to com up with some means by which natural paces and natural perceptions can be incorporated in new ceramic art and industrial design, and the concept of nature can be conveyed in design. The nature of daily life is clarified methods of daily necessities' redesign are generalized, and human needs are studied on a deeper level. Through the study of compatibility of new ceramics art and industrial design, the paper proposes anew mode of original thinking for future development of industrial design. With the help of industrial design, new ceramic art will be better applied to people's daily life.
