A Preliminary Archaeological Research On Bohai Costume

The Bohai costume culture is one of its important historical culture. Because the multiplicity of its national, the costume of Bohai also shows the character of multiplicity, fusion and complexity.This article begins with the literature record of Bohai costume, together with the Archaeological discoveries to study the Bohai costume. Based on this, the article collects some related pictures, statues and remains ,analyse different informations about Bohai costume and pay more attention to the belts, ornamental hairpin, at the same time analyse the necklace, the ear fall, the bangle, the ring, the leatherstrap of Bohai costume. To study the shape, the material and compare it to neighbor countries to summery the Bohai costume.Archaeology Promulgates the remains of Bohai, mainly means the castles, tombs, villiages, temples and so on. Among the metal remains, there were lots of costume declarations. These remains are very systematic ones which are very important materials to recover the Bohai costume. Besides, in china Jilin province and north Korea we have found some special mural, the people on the mural shows some important clues to the study of Bohai costume.We can know the costume system of the Bohai dynasty through the new Tang history and some other books. The economic between Tang dynasty and Bohai was very close. The interact between Bohai and Japan was aimed at politics and military, with the development of the politics and enomic, the trade became the main content., from which we can know that the goods that the Bohai gives to Japan were mainly fish furs, hemp fabric and some other kinds of leather. On the other hand, the Tang dynasty and the Japan mainly gave silk and clothes. There are Bohai dynasty remains in China, Russia and north Korea, in the middle eighth century it had been a strong local national power in the northeast Asia, many countries have special interests in Bohai dynasty, but the study about the costume is still weak. In China , there is few book describing the Bohai costume in systems. Some books referred the Bohai costume, for example Mr WangPeixin.After the founding of new China, in Jilin province, the city of Dunhua, some murals were discoveried in the ancient tombs of Bohai dynasty. The mural in the tomb of Princess Zhenxiao with twelve people carry different utensils.In north Korea the similar murals were also discoveried. From the materials now, the Bohai costume were reflected mainly by the murals, the line engraves, line of the carpenter's ink marker portrait and Burial puppets, but what is more, a lot of declarations were found in the remains of Bohai including the necklace, the ear fall, the bangle, the ring, the leatherstrap and so on which can show the gesture of Bohai people.This article summered up the study results form scholars both in and out of China, based on this, analysed the character of the shapes, materials of the ear fall, necklace and so on. I have paid more attention to the tomb of Princess Zhenxiao and the Helongshiguo pictures and sculptures in order to recover the total appearance of Bohai costume.
