A Descriptive Study On English Trademarks From Linguistic Perspective

Trademarks are the offspring of highly development of market economics, and play a crucial role in modern society. The significance of trademarks is widely recognized, and at the same time, the linguistic study of trademark becomes rather important.On the context of social environment, it analyses word choice of trademark words, analyzes the linguistic theoretical basis of English trademark words from perspectives of phonosemantics and sociolinguistics, focuses on the impacts of trademark words on modern English, and puts forward some suggestions to Chinese enterprises.In one word, the thesis tends to summarize characteristics of trademarks systemically and outline a descriptive framework for trademark linguistics on the context of social environment.Hopefully this paper will provide a reference to Chinese companies and brand designers in their way to push the internationalization of Chinese trademarks, and create excellent trademarks to accommodate world trends and competition.
