In modern graphic design, photography is one of key expression format, especially fashion photography is coming into a new trendy expression for fashion advertisement. It becomes a historical evidence for study fashion and culture with the matched time. Also, as a new communication format, fashion photography is closely relevant to social developing opinion. Chinese fashion photography begins from last decade. For getting clear judge and catching its characteristic, we should make the strict and serious evaluation for fashion photography.The author will analysis fashion photography's non-rational characteristic from the angle of visual graphic research based on post-modernism culture. The paper based on the outstanding lensmen and their works, such as Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Helmut Newton, and FengHai.The author demonstrate the theme, that is, how non-rational characteristic from graphic media affect fashion photography, from three angles: the 1st, why fashion photography is non-rational; the 2nd, antinomy inspired by non-rational characteristic between fetishism with voyeurism and aesthetics regulations; the 3rd, non-rational characteristic express in domestic fashion photography.
