The culture market is the areas and establishments of marketing activities about the cultural commodity, the cultural service aswell as the cultural resources. Along with the arrival of the knowledge economy time and the globalintegration time in the 21st century, the theoretical and practical issues of the culture market gradually become the hot topic which the people pay attention. The culture market is a historical category. So In order to provide the historical model for development of the modern culture market, it is necessary to inspect its development and evolution From historical perspective.Had experienced the turmoil period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Song Dynasty was another centralized feudal empire after Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty. The whole country was fairly peaceful.and tranquility, and had appeared out a relatively stable political situation. The commodity economy developed at a high speed, and the traditional system of workshops and stores had been broken in commercial transactions. The economical function of city had been strengthened day by day, and urban residents' consumer awareness and consumer demand strengthened continuously. Moreover, Song Dynasty also is the highly prosperous time of culture, and have made a considerable progress in various aspects such as science and technology,education,literature,art and so on. On this basis, Song Dynasty's culture market obtained a fast development. It was very active and prosperous, and showed a development state diversified and multi-level development state.However, the past scholors have already involved the research of the culture market of Song Dynasty. But in materials which I have searched, I haven't found very systematic and comprehensive research. They are either too simple and general, or emphasis a certain region or a certain aspect. On the basis of their studies, this text starts with the respects of the base of the culture market of Song Dynasty.
