It was known as "resurgence" for Ci in Qing Dynasty in the history of Ci study. In fact, it already started between the late period of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty. Cao'erkan, who was considered as an important author, established the bright artistic style characteristic and his work of Ci formed the sharp contrast with other supple graceful works. His work of Ci was a transitional stage between "Yunjian" and "Yangxian"and "Zhexi". Also, he played the important impetus role in the creation and prosperity process of Ci in Qing Dynasty. But the pity is that nobody has made the system study about Ci of him.This article developed the study by the following several aspects. First, this article analyzes his creation and artistic feature by his family and literature tutelage. Second, it summarizes his viewpoint of Ci. Third, it tries to indicate his status and the influence in the field of Ci between the late period of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty.This article altogether includes eight parts:The introduction part: It outlines the background of "resurgence" for Ci in Qing Dynasty. Simultaneously, it explained the study situation about Ci of Cao'erkan.The first chapter: It introduces his family and literature tutelage by the literature materials and tells his whole life in brief.The second chapter: It analyzes his work of Ci and to count his Ci and his work collection of Ci. In the same time, it corrected the mistake of works that has preserved his work. Also, it carries on the type division to his work.The third chapter: It elaborates the activities of Ci at the beginning of Qing Dynasty including "Jiangcun" "Guangling" and "Qiushuixuan".The fourth chapter: It analyzes the artistic features of his work of Ci and seeks diligently the factors of the style transforms.The fifth chapter: It summarizes his viewpoint of Ci and tries to indicate his status and the influence in the field of Ci between the late period of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty.The conclusion part: It makes the concise summary to his creation of Ci. Appendix: It includes three parts: one is the material assembly of his lives. The others include the timeline of Cao'erkan and Ci's which aren't found.
