Looking back at the Chinese aesthetic history of the past 100 years, Zong Baihua's life aesthetics with profound philosophical thinking, incisive view of the arts, sincere humane care and broad comparison of Chinese and Western aesthetic vision, lay in its unique position in Chinese modern aesthetics history. Compared to contemporary aestheticians, Zong Baihua's transcendence is that actively assimilating Western life philosophy and taking them for the reference frame, he reopened the inherent character meaning of Chinese life philosophy, and made many new interpretation. "Life and orderly" life ontology is an important theoretical base point of his life aesthetics which was built on the fusion of Chinese and Western life philosophy. On the basis of his life ontology , he put forward that "Beauty is rich life in harmonious forms" and took life movement and harmonious forms as his aesthetics and art theory's cores. One of most outstanding contribution made by Zong Baihua is that he researched the quality of life within yi-jing (" artistic conception "). Under the aesthetic vision he re-explained images, artistic conception and realm. Especially in the explaination of artistic conception, he highlighted the leading role of the human's spiritual life in creating artistic conception and artistic conception dynamic generation process under the main life participation. Artistic life is another important viewpoint in Zong Baihua's life Aesthetics. His ideal personality type which is on the basis of the integration of Chinese and Western aesthetics demonstrated its more modern sense today. The modern significance of Zong Baihua's life aesthetic also embodied in the highlight of main life ,in the care of universe harmonious coexistence and achievement in respect of mutual complementarity and perturbation between Chinese and western cultures.
