The Research On H.Bergson's Duration Theory

This is a rationalism time which science is supreme, although nobody is the pure rationalism or the non-rationalism, H.Bergson is pasted on non-rationalism label, so he was inevitably to decline, but a person's prestige will be declines after his dying does not stand for this person's thoughts also go along with him. The questions Bergson dedicated to discussed were time, freewill, body-mind, intuition, memory, and so on. Those questions we still have not made a bigger progress than him today. We have already disaffected to the answer which provide by the so-called rationalism. This is the significance we make this research of Bergson's duration theory at the days he is nearly ignored.This article is divided to three parts to carry on the discussion of the Duration theory of Bergson.First, make a depiction of Bergson how to analyzed the question of psychological condition intensity, it involved to Bergson's critique reductionism, which in order to facilitate the contents of make the discrimination between psychological events and the physical events.It's stressed on Bergson's critiques to the physics-psychology, according to his analysis, the psychological condition change is the change of quality, not the change of quantity, so we could not reduce the psychological condition intensity into the physical reason, and the true characteristic of psychological condition is Duration. Besides that ,this part introduced Bergson's theory of false question, and pointed out the psychological condition intensity have the size question is a false question which is inappropriate proposed, the psychological intensity could not distinguish in quantity, it is in the domain of duration but not in extend.Second, make efforts to hackle the concept of duration, it mainly to make analysis to the main attribute of duration. Those attributes divide into several parts to analyze: continuity, timeliness, heterogeneity, simplicity, multitudinous, latent, and so on. In this process it involve to the stream of consciousness, the time theory, the question of multitudinous and the simplicity, one and many, the continuity and heterogeneity, latent and possibility, the depth-self and the surface-self, the mechanical memory and the purely memory, and so on. This part is key point of the full text, besides to analyze the attributes of duration, it also attempt to make the duration theory as the primarily clue, false question theory as the tool to analyze the time question, the body-mind, the memory, the freewill, and so on.Third, set forth to the intuition which the way to grasps duration. Firstly elaborated the characteristic and significance of intelligence, point out the functions of science and intelligence, at the same time, it still point that they can not grasp the duration just as the life. Secondly, pointed out the characteristic of intuition and the difference between intelligence. Finally, make a simple analysis on whether intuition can be treat as a possible method to us to learn the world.
