Research On TV Column Plays

In 2006, China's TV plays gradually became more like "story-telling meeting", and then many TV column plays came out. After ten years' lonely exploration of the first column play "Night Stories of Misty Capital ", column play comes forth as mainstream before the audience. It is a new product of Chinese TV and undoubtedly becomes a new cosset in China's TV plays.The TV column plays are zestfully produced in all-level TV stations, but for its theoretical construction, that is still blank. There is no clear definition about column plays, and refreshing former researches and concluding the characteristics of its manufacture and broadcasting can promote its practical progress. In this thesis, the creative status quo and system of TV column plays are studied, and some important questions are discussed to give the inspiration for creators. The thesis is developed as follows:First of all, the scrimmage TV pattern in China is introduced. Under this pattern, the strong TV media has struggled to buy the monopoly broadcasting rights of TV plays and launched blatant selection program, but some feeblish media has to explore local columns to compete with them. This is the background of the prosperity of column plays. This thesis summarized the information of the playwriting and popularity for column plays around the country based on CSM statistical data.Secondly, the most important question of "What is column play?" is carding and the characteristics of column plays are presented. Since the column play is still a new product, instead of integrated definition, the keyword form has been adopted for its further development.Thirdly, some cases are studied. "Night Stories in Misty Capital", which is the first column play in China, is welcomed by audience for more than ten years. Through the textual analysis, the reasons for its success are given. "Hot Pot of Life" is also a popular column play, and its success dues to the vigorous industrial operation of the whole channel. Based on the firsthand materials, the beneficial attempts of this column play are analyzed from the aspects of manufacturing process, management mechanism, broadcasting and all-around development.At last, the hidden worries under the prosperity of column plays are proposed to remind the creators to deal with these problems.This thesis used many firsthand materials about the production and operation of column plays through the practice of the author.
