With the information and data in terms ofaudience rating and social impact of News Story, the thesis contemplates theenlightenment and problems reflected by the production and communication of TVcolumn plays.Chapter2of the thesis is the subject analysis of TV column plays, which comparesthe similarities and differences in subject choice between the archetypal stories and TV column plays, and analyzes the inner link between daily life events and stories of filmand TV works. With the case of News Story, chapter2also analyzes the characteristicsand skills of subject selection and story development of film and TV plays.Chapter3studies the plot structure, and the fourth chapter discusses characterdesign. Combining the case of News Story, the two chapters specifically analyzes theinterplay of authenticity and dramaticism in plot and character design and the wholecreation process. Meanwhile, the processing techniques in the actual creation processare discussed.Chapter5further studies other factors affecting the truthfulness of stories, such asthe play’s authenticity of details in common sense, the application of documentaryapproach, and the avoidance of stylization in program creation and so on.This thesis argues that the artistic truth is a kind of script of film and TV play in thename of art, with different forms, which are different from real life. Artistic truthpresents a variety of forms in handling relations with the real life. The diversity of formsrepresents the different understanding of artistic truth, showing different artistic styles.Authenticity and dramaticism is the double expectation of the television audiencetowards TV column plays. How to achieve the balance between the dual factors is animportant subject for creators to explore and study.
