With the development of our national economy, the rising of international status, the improving of Chinese people's life and the accelerating of the army building, higher demands were raised to meet the national defense goal in the new period. The strengthen of national defense and the modernization of military building based on growing economics is the trend of the military revolution worldwide which meets the needs of defending the country's security and interests.Military costume, the symbol of national power, represents stateliness and the national image. It is the measurement of national economics and the microcosm of national spirit and culture. Taking on the soldiers appearance and symbolizing the country , military costume takes on the appearance of the soldiers, symbolizes the country and strengthens the spirit of the whole army. It reflects the development of national economics and cultures, the modernization and the regularization of the army to some extent and is the symbol of the stateliness of the country and the army .Military costume is an important component part of the combat effectiveness of the army and closely related to soldiers' daily life. Military costume which is unified in forms, high in quality, comfortable to wear is of great importance for strengthening army building, showing army image, protecting soldiers health and increasing the combat effectiveness of the army.Military costume is vast in its system, complicated in its classification and various in its products. Military costume is a part of uniforms and belongs to functional and occupational costume. With unified form, color, fabric, size and dressing requirement, it is the uniform of the soldiers . It conveys the information of the army identity, the soldier identity, the rank and the service and is the symbol of national spirit and dignity together with the army stateliness. The military costume system or army costume is too vast to discuss wholly due to the variety of military costumes for different environments such as the costume for training, fighting costume, the camouflage and so on. This paper keen on the discussion of two parts, one is the most frequently used and the most ordinary military costume usually wore in spring and fall and the another is the formal dress and evening dress which needs to be further improved for the army. Daily wear: Daily wear refers to the daily uniform for the whole army. It can be divided into three types according to the different dressing season: spring—fall, summer and the winter.Formal dress: Formal dress usually could be divided into two types. One is mainly for important conferences, gatherings or ordinary ceremonial occasions. It is quite similar to daily dress but adorned all one's medals or ribbons in addition. Another named evening dress is mainly for special occasions such as banquets or festivals. It requires the highest standard of workmanship, proper fitting and the fabric among all the military costumes.
