The Influnce Of Co-witness Discussion On Memory

The current research aims to explore the effects that the co-witness discussion on memory accuracy and memory confidence. And if post-event misinformation effect can appear, that is memory conformation effect. And at the same time, we explore the warning effects on memory accuracy, memory confidence and memory conformation after co-witness discussion. Study 1 compared co-witness discussion with no discussion, the result suggested that, participants who received the true post-event information are more accuracy and confidence than no discussion; participants who received the false post-event information are less accuracy than no discussion, and the answer is consistent with the post-event misinformation; the confidence have no change. Study 2 was going to detect the effect of warning. participants were warned that they had received the post-event information may be wrong, so, you recalled the event based on yourself memory. The result was that, warning Vs discussion but no warning, warning didn't change the accuracy and the confidence. The findings reported in study 2 suggest that memory conformation may result from memory change.
