Guo Moruo And Japan

Guo Moruo was a famous Chinese poet, dramatist, historian and paleographer. He went to Japan in 1914, and came back in 1923.From 1928 to 1937, he was also in Japan. So it is 20 years since he lived in Japan. His life had a deep cultural sentimental bond with Japan. The first aim to Japan was to work on literature, some new poems, including Goddess were the representative works. Because of some political reasons, he went to Japan secondly and devoted himself in `academic study, especially in Chinese ancient history. In 1955, as the lead of Chinese Academy of Sciences, he led a delegation to Japan and made great contributions to Sino-Japanese cultural communication. The delegation to Japan led by him was a symbolic event, there was a climax before the relations between China and Japan returned to normal. Guo Moruo didn't write so many books on Japan, but he married a Japanese girl and made many Japanese friends .Japanese conditions and customs and traditional culture affected his literature and academic study. The dissertation not only tells Guo Moruo's study, works and family life but also arranges his 20-year life from the angel of the relation between Guo Moruo and Japanese society, Japanese culture.The dissertation includes four parts. The first part describes Guo Moruo's life and his Japanese experience, The second part talks about that Japanese culture effected Guo Moruo's literature, The third part talks about that Guo Moruo communicated with Sino-Japanese culture, The last part analyzes his novels and articles, such as Analyses on Being of the Same Race and Using the Same Script and General Survey of Japan's Development. It also makes a thorough inquiry into Guo Moruo's Japanese recognition.
