English teaching and learning has experienced a profound development in China. With the development of Chinese economy and the world globalization, the need for high competent English learners is in a great amount. English majors in their daily learning may pay much attention to improving their spoken English. But for most non-English majors, things are different. They have low speaking ability. Therefore, they need a lot of practice in class, thus class involvement is of great value to achieve that goal.Though teachers and learners have been aware of the importance of speaking involvement in class activities, the real situation in everyday class is not satisfactory. There are many factors affecting their involvement.Speaking involvement in class activities have been mentioned by some westerner researchers in their studies or papers. But in China though some teachers or educators have noticed its importance, but there are few written forms in this field. So in this paper, the author will mainly analyze some factors affecting speaking involvement closed related to foreign language learners and meanwhile she will provide some suggestions.To support the paper a class observation is carried out to observe the subjects'class involvement and after that an opened interview is given, and then a questionnaire is administered to 60 students at Yanbian University.
