On Song-Lian's Contacts And Literature Thought

Song lian was a important thinker, a writer, a historian,a statesman and a scholar in the inermination of Yuan and the beginning of Ming danasty. His life although travelled fewly, but he had many academic friends.A study on Song lian with his close teachers and his friends, will be helpful to us more deeply to know a formation of his thought, as well as his thought's influence to that time. His thought was decided by his time inevitably. Since Song dynasty, Confucianism although developed rapiddly, but his schools was like leaves, either crisk or shallow, so as to many defaults . In Yuan dynasty,the ruler although recognized the three theorys'(Confucianism, Buddhism, Daoism ) is the same in his law , in fact Confucianism was in the edge of the society because of their lacking of understanding to the Confucianism .Further more the implementation of ethnic discrimination policy, and the empaxize of imperial civil service examination, decided three trends of his culture: First, because of the three theory being , many Confucian scholars tried to melt them. Second, many Confucian scholars strived to unite for practicality. Third, many Confucian scholars was not sastisfied with Yuan dynasty politics, so that they had overjumpped the Tang and Song dynasty,overstepped the Han and Wei dynasty , even straightly climbed the Zhou Dynasty, in order to nurture their world with the literature, therefore the Yuan dynasty literature restored the old trend.Song lian insisted the three theories is the same in the law. He used"the heart"concept to make a connection the Confucianism,Buddhism, Daoism. Similarly, he fused the theories of Zhu Xi and Lu Xiangshan with"Six Confucian classics""the heart theory"; the theories of the Zhu Xi and lv Zuqian with"one in the literater and confucian"; the theories of Zhu Xi and Chen Liang with"Six Confucian classics""no idle talk"; and the theories of Zhu Xi and Tang Yi with the"ideal rule".His strives corrected the confucion in some way .Although Song lian didn't establish the new Confucianism system,but he proposed some new viewpoints, fused the theories of Confucian schools and the Confucianism, Buddhism,Daoism friendly, adapted the request of his time and impelled the academic development, so he is an indispensable key link in the thought history of China ancient times.Song lian made the prominent contribution regardless of in politics, Confucianism, literature, or in historic, in his time and in the history. In politics, he assisted Zhu Yuanzhang to establish the policy trend, solicits the talented persons, propaganda policy, gain popular sentiment,formulate etiquette, regulate systems; In the Confucianism, he fuses the theories into one for practicality; In the literature, he developed the literary style since the Tang and Song dynasty,made the prominent contribution for the prose health development in the future; In the history, he compiled"the history of the Yuan dynasty"in his leading, and composed"the record of Hongwu Politics"which opened the contemporary history.Song-lian's thought will be extremely rich. A study of his thought origin will be helpful to his unstanding. The characters with him were multitudinous, only the number mentioned in"the Complete works of Song lian"was more than 1,000.
