The ancient Rome from a tiny little state of Latium to the greatempire across Europe, Asia and Africa and the Roman culture from anarrow range of the Italian peninsula to the majority of well-known andadmired by our culture, What had played an important role in the processare the national spirits of the Rome. the formation of the characteristics ofthe national spirits is as a result of a series of factors' cooperated effectsin the early period of the nation.In particular, the agriculture tradition ofthe state,Etruscan strong and sustained impact in the early Roman stateand the role of domestic realities become even more significant. The roleof these factors, the history of ancient Rome after a long-term test of thenation, gradually creating a poor frugal, integrity, honesty, respect the law,patriotism, dedication and realistic features. These features highlight thenational spirits is a valuable spiritual wealth of the nation in ancientRome, as well as a powerful force. And gradually push the countrytowards thriving and prosperous. Moreover, it is also beyond the scope ofthe Rome, playing an extensive and profound, tremendous and lastingimpact in the Mediterranean world and even the whole world fromancient to modern times.This essay attempts to analyze the reasons that caused the nationalspirits' formation, reveals its main feature, then explore the enormousinfluence of Rome to give readers a more thorough understanding of the national spirits. And this essay is composed of three sections:introduction, body and conclusion.The first section is an introduction, it introduces the recent studiesfrom domestic and overseas scholars about the issue and the significanceof this theme briefly.The second section is the body, and the body is divided into threechapters. The first chapter mainly analyze the factors that caused theformation of the national spirits by the agriculture tradition of the state,Etruscan strong and sustained impact in the early period of the state andthe role of domestic realities;The second chapter reveals five importantcharacteristics of the spirit including patriotism, dedication, integrity anddevotion, respect the law and realistic one by one; the third chapterexplored an tremendous impact of the national spirits in ancient Romeand in the Mediterranean world and even the whole world in time andspace.The third section is a conclusion, it's a brief summary of the nationalspirits of the Rome and point out that we should pay attention to the roleof the national spirit.
