| The developing issue of canvas in China is finally the corresponding issue between the form language of canvas and the inherent spirit of Chinese national culture.The National spirit is an emotional form,and it is the basic standing point but not all characteristics.Western canvas begins the process of nationalization towards Chinese canvas from the first day of entering China.Throughout the nationalization of Chinese canvas,we can see that national canvas can really mature only when it roots on Chinese national aesthetic taste,and it can find its way out only when it draws nourishment from traditional national essence and bases on Chinese traditional culture. However,not just do we make the nationalization of painting materials and painting techniques,but also we are necessary for the deep understanding of national spirit.We must make Chinese canvas seeking for self-development from the Chinese national spirit.The Western invented Canvas and had been dominating it all the time,however, the Chinese,brave to explore,took the "new art" movement prelude from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.People who studied back form foreign in earlier time had already embodied the Chinese elements in their painting,but quite limited.It has been proved in history that the traditional culture of Chinese nation can transcend their own limitations to show their dazzling shine only in cultural communication.The art practice of my three teachers I had met in my different studying periods is the good examples.They make varying important influence on Chinese canvas by their expression technique of "realism" and their relatively representative features.In this paper,through researching my three teachers,the localization and deep national emotion of few local painters have been shown out. |
