Hong Ying is a "deviationist" in the contemporary literary world. Frequently, shedraws the attention of the public because of her disputed sensitive subjects, delicate"erotic" depiction, and one after another literary lawsuit. Hong Ying is noted for herpersistence in the brand-new themes and narrative techniques. It can be seen that herwriting themes and style are unorthodox and unconventional. And it should also bepointed out that she uniformly and emotionally describes the change of women'sdestinies in the contemporary Chinese society. She audaciously narrates in thesensitive and marginal subjects, and subversively writes against the traditional ideas, which has set her apart from the conventionality of the Chinese ContemporaryLiterature and offer newness and peculiarity to it. She is characterized by thevanward stance of writing and narration from the standpoint of women, for shealways focuses her novels on the women, organically integrating women's livingspace and course with the complicated real society. What distinguished herself is thatshe always seeks the free expression of women's life desire, probes into the ways ofself rescue under the pressure of tradition and realism, and induces the liberation ofwomen's intrinsic nature. Based on the literary criticism of her masterpieces, mythesis aims at exploring women's suffering in the contemporary society with herunique stance of writing and standpoint.
