| Shicen Li, a Chinese distinguished scholar in twentieth century, in his short life, made great contribution to exploring the essence of Chinese traditional culture, to spreading occidental culture, especially the theory of Marxism. As an advocator of the spirit of "May 4th Movement China", Li is thoughtful and speculative, widely introducing new ideas and theory from west, attesting to the Chinese traditional theories and ruminating the problems of life. Li sublimed the "life" to Ontology Significance to discuss the ideal, the value, the attitude, the thought and the end-result of life, as well as the solvent of life problems and the way of realizing life expression which is regarded as the ultimate goal. Li took "wuwei" as the way of life expression, argued against the artificialness those suppressing and fettering vital force, emphasized on that "natural" "life" should be conveyed by inherent will without any exoteric influence. Through self-culture, human beings are supposed to achieve, to sublime from selves to universe and to join the art. Currently, social transformation is ongoing in China which impacts on people's philosophy and arouse a series of questions-what is the meaning of life, how to achieve the value of life. Li, this modern philosopher, his thoughts and ideas have special reference to our reflection on life.
