The revival of practical philosophy in the modern western academic circles has showed the theoretical research interest and the subject of modern western academic circles, and has manifested its powerful vitality and practical significance in western academic tradition. In western practical philosophy research tradition, Aristotle and Marx were two monuments. Aristotle initiated practical philosophy tradition, and Marx made philosophy to be "practical turning". They all instructed the purposive activity as core conception of practical philosophy and carried on profound theoretical analysis on it. The former recognized praxis as the activitywhich was its own end, the latter revealed its productivity, the former emphasized relation between purpose and process, the latter underlined relation between aim and result. This provides theoretical basis for comparison between them. Firstly this article separately expounds the content, essence and characteristic of Aristotle's practical view and Marx's, then take this as the standpoint to compare and analyze them, mainly from six aspects such as connotation of practical concept, intrinsic mechanism of praxis, value and significance, theoretical admission passage, relation between praxis and theory, position of practical philosophy and so on. Through the comparison, we may know that it is a sublated relation between Aristotle's practical view and Marx's, namely, the latter is a kind of critique, inheritance and development to the former. This conclusion provides a new angle to thoroughly understand Marx's practical view and interpret revival of practical philosophy in the modem westem academic circles.
