To be born into the Land of Bliss is the main goal of the various schools ofBuddhism known as "The Great Vehicle" or Mahayana, especially Pure Land sect.In China, not only those who follow the Pure land practice but those who belong todifferent sects also want to be born into the Land of Bliss (Pure land) and considerthe Pure land as the last return.Among the three important texts of Pure land sect, Amitta Sutra(Sukhaφvatiyuφha Suφtra) is the basic one which generally introduces aboutAmitta Buddha, the name of the Land, the lanscape and the way how to practice inorder to reborn into the Land of Bliss and attain the Buddhahood. The path is thathuman beings Who have got strong beliefs, Commitment and EabracingThis dissertation bases mainly on a hermeneutical methodology (xungu), focusingon a complete comparative analysis of different vocabulary of various Chinesetranslations and annotations of the Amitta Sutra in order to examine the meaning ofthe text.
