Human visual mechanism is an important physiological function and the Visual art is one of the most vivid and direct express the essence of the civilization it entailed. Visual selectivity is the most important features of human's visual activity, as it embodies the nature of things according to its different selection of time, space, region, culture, and visual habits .Chinese painting is the product of the nation's visual selection.This paper attempts to interpret the some visual schema features of Chinese paintings from the visual selectivity aspect. First, it explained the relations between visual arts and the visual select mechanism. Second, it briefly analyzed the development of visual forms and the select system in Chinese ancient painting. Based on the research of visual psychology, from the selectivity approach the paper analyzed the unique visual selection of Chinese painting and the reason for this selection. It also discussed the development stages for Chinese painting to form its own charming characteristics. Third, it explored the factors of this selective system, mainly from the following aspects: the nation's living environment, social classes, productivity patterns, the nation' philosophy belief and culture, etc. Finally, through the analysis of specific images, it revealed some important features of visual selective system in Chinese painting. In construction, Chinese painting focus on the diversity of style; in form, Chinese painting emphases on the power of ink and line. Besides, Chinese painting combines the black-and-white visual construction and aesthetic system together, the aesthetic value in Symbolic visual elements and features of form are popular.This paper, focusing on the unique visual selective mechanism in Chinese painting, analyzed the visual concepts and language features of Chinese painting. It differed from other research method in learning from the result of visual arts and the method of image analysis. It claimed that Chinese painting should learn from other paintings under the condition that it maintains the core of native visual selectivity, that's to say, Chinese painting should adapt to the merging of culture, and meanwhile, keep its native uniqueness.
