Vision is an important carrier of people’s cognition.Commodity consumption is closely connected with people’s lifestyle,and it appeals to the aesthetic subject in the way of visual design.Symbolic consumption is a new type of consumption in modern society.With the impact of multiculturalism and the popularization of digital interconnection and other high-tech developments,a huge visual symbol consumption platform has been quietly constructed.In the era of symbol consumption,people’s lifestyles and thinking cognition have undergone earth-shaking changes,and consumers’ aesthetic orientation and consumption preferences tend to pursue the value of symbols.Visual design has become an important part of the pursuit of business interests.How to combine design,humanistic and scientific methods to explore solutions that meet people’s consumption expectations and sustainable requirements has become a problem faced by current visual design.This thesis takes design as the core,incorporates related theoretical results of communication,economics,sociology,ethics,etc.,takes the existing consumption behavior as the research entry point,and focuses on visual design from the perspective of symbolic consumption.This thesis is mainly discussed in four chapters.The introduction part of the first chapter mainly systematically sorts out the framework of the main body of the article,puts forward the background and significance of the topic selection of this thesis,summarizes the existing research results,and clarifies the current practical value of the research of this thesis.The second chapter of the thesis is an overview of the theory of symbol consumption,explaining the inner relationship between consumerism and symbol consumption,and analyzing the mechanism of symbol consumption on visual design.The third chapter is the analysis of the constituent elements of visual design from the perspective of symbol consumption.On the basis of completing the combing of the phenomenon of symbol consumption,it further analyzes the characteristics and expression of visual design.The fourth chapter is based on the above chapters,reflecting on the visual design under the current symbolic consumption perspective,starting from the perspective of design concept,design form and communication method,combined with the analysis of visual image,visual information and visual language,Propose a path to optimize visual design.
